Earlier this year I continued on with a podcast I started with two of my best friends. I decided to take it head on and do it myself. All of the brainstorming, all of the planning, all of the editing, etc. was a one man operation. It was fun learning how to put together a "solid" podcast, use Adobe Premiere to properly edit my work, make a solid video clip from my podcast, how to bleep out cuss words that I shouldn't be saying anyways (hi mom), etc.
Although I learned a ton, it was too much work for me and I stopped having fun with it. I don't think it was the fact that I didn't get a ton of listeners that made the fun stop. Truthfully, it was me being way too hard on myself. I thought every single one of my podcasts sucked and it really put me in a tough place. Even if the podcast got a decent amount of listeners or if the reels I put out from my podcast got a lot of likes and views, I still thought it was horrible and would judge myself for it.
So it stopped recording the podcast.
I didn't stop posting reels, making videos of my experiences, or writing blogs though. I quickly realized that was the correct move because thats what makes this fun for me. Writing about sports, creating videos that make people laugh, editing a video for a bachelor trip I went on, etc. Doing a solo podcast took up far too much of my time and to be quite frank, the only thing it did was make me anxious.

My @OTOsportsblog instagram has reached 33k accounts the past 30 days, I have written 100 blogs that over 2.5k people in 42 different states have read, and I have gained over 200 followers on my @treykelleher3 twitter over the past 2 months. All of that is from posting blogs that I have written or videos I have edited for people to read and watch.
When I sit back and think about why I have so much fun with this, its because I do not care how many people read my blogs or watch my videos. This is truly therapeutic for me, something that cures my anxiety, relieves my stress. It definitely helps that people read and watch my work, but if that were the reason I did this I wouldn't last very long.
From this day forward I will be focusing on my blog (before and after my full time job of course). My goals here are to write four or five blogs a week, grow my audience with each blog, and put out a product that everyone can enjoy.
In addition to the blogs, I will continue to make videos and put out content on instagram and twitter. The type of content will be a mix of all things sports, some humor and a splash of Kacey Musgraves and Taylor Swift.
People say that I should really focus on what I want my content/audience to look like. My answer to that is "no." I'm gonna do things my own way and have the most fun with it.
If you have read a blog of mine, watched a reel on instagram, subscribed to treykelleher3.com, liked one of my tweets etc. Thank you, and I hope you stick around.
