After years of dominating the C-USA, the Roadrunners will now be welcomed to the American Athletic Conference where they will be expected to contend for a conference title there too. Frank Harris, Quarterback for UTSA, will be the star of the show in every game they play this season. Opponents have tried to stop him, but in reality they can only hope to contain.

Harris threw for over 4,000 yards last year, tossed 32 touchdowns, ran for over 600 yards and added 9 touchdowns with his legs. He will be surrounded by familiar faces this year as the Roadrunners return 9 starters on their seemingly unstoppable offense from last year, and not much will be different this year regardless of the conference switch.

Their defense was solid last year and will be returning most of their talent this year. Jess Loepp’s unit held teams to 25.9 points per contest and 5.5 yards per play in 2022. Those numbers will only improve as they welcome back seven players with All-Conference capabilities.

Their season and a trip to the AAC conference title game will come down to a week 12 matchup with the 2022 conference champions, the Tulane Green Wave.

This is a team that will compete right away for a conference title, and everyone in Jeff Traylor’s locker room believes it. Expect 9 or 10 wins from this team and a historic year from Frank Harris.

How Many Games Will UTSA Win In 2023?

  • 9 or more

  • 8 or less

Prediction: 9-3. I think Tulane will get the best of them in the regular season finale, but it will be a hell of a game to watch.
