Countdown to Kickoff Day 18: #33 South Alabama Jaguars

The Jaguars season will come down to one game and one game only. They travel to Troy, Alabama for a date with the Trojans on 11/2 and the Sun Belt West will almost certainly be decided then.

Troy got the best of them last year, betting them 10-6, but as you can probably tell by seeing Troy at #42 in my rankings, I think South Alabama gets them this year.

Why? The Jags return a hefty percentage of starters from last year, including their top four players on offense in QB Carter Bradley, RB La’Damian Webb and WRs Devin Voisin and Caullin Lacy. They will also be getting their top six defensive playmakers back on a defense that was ranked in the top 10 in Rush Yards/Game and top 30 in Opponent Points/Game and Yards/Game.

There really isn't much to report here because not much is going to change with this team. They have a tough first game against Tulane and will meet Oklahoma State in Stillwater in week 3, but Kane Wommack’s team will still win 9 or 10 games this year and their appearance in the Sun Belt Championship game WILL come down to their regular season matchup @ Troy.

Prediction: 9-3. Losses to Tulane, Oklahoma State, and JMU.
